What tuxai.dev Is

tuxai.dev is a practical reference for Linux and AI tooling, built for developers and sysadmins who are tired of translating apt to dnf to pacman every time they switch machines or distros. Most guides here cover the same task across Debian/Ubuntu, Fedora/RHEL and Arch side by side, so you don't have to guess whether a guide written for one distro applies to yours.

The site started as a focused project to fill a gap I kept running into myself: scattered, outdated, or single-distro guides for tasks that are common across the whole Linux ecosystem, installing distros, setting up AI tools locally, configuring servers, and using the terminal effectively.

Who Writes tuxai.dev

I'm JM Carreira. I've used Linux since 2008, and since 2021 it has been my main system, every day, for both work and play. When an article has a "Tested on" box, I ran the steps on that machine: a Lenovo Tiny with an Intel Core i7-6700T, 16 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD. How This Content Is Made

I'm upfront about this: articles on tuxai.dev are drafted with AI assistance, and I review and test them before publishing. In practice, that means:
